When Dylan sent me a message saying, “Hey you got a moment to chat????” I knew exactly what he was going to say!!

Fun fact: I actually met Taylor and Dylan two years ago in the weirdest way haha! I was planning a creative shoot with a country, cinematic, and candid photography style, and I happened to see Taylor post a photo of herself wearing a cowboy hat on Instagram. I had literally never met her before, but I sent her a message asking if her and Dylan wanted to help me out with the shoot!

Well… they said yes. And now two years later, I got that text message from Dylan and I couldn’t have been more excited!!

This time though, it wasn’t for a styled shoot; it was for a surprise proposal and engagement session at Birds Hill Provincial Park, just outside Winnipeg.

We started off taking some cute little engagement photos and family photos with their pup while walking through the trails. It was literally the WINDIEST day EVER (classic Manitoba weather). So we took a little warm-up break in the truck while Dylan secretly snuck the ring into his pocket before the big moment.

Once the ring was secure, our plan was officially “engaged.”
(Horrible pun intended.)

The moment before he asked, that last look at the ring box, absolutely melts my heart…

We immediately ran back to the truck to warm up because we were FROZEN!! Also… to celebrate with a very important member of the family: their pup…..

But we braved that Manitoba cold one more time for a few more Birds Hill Park engagement photos before the sun disappeared.

And in classic Manitoba wedding photographer fashion… just as they were getting back in the truck to leave, I had to say:

“OK… one more photo.” 🙂

Planning a proposal or engagement session at Birds Hill Park? I’d love to help capture it.

The End <3
